Overview - Find Yourself In Nature!
Come and have a weekend break in the beautiful Gower coastal area being guided on some walks with great views by a professional walk leader. The intention is to share the experience together as women, find mutual support and have a jolly good time as well!
- Friday - Gather together in the evening for a meal at our accommodation and get to know each other.
- Saturday - A full day's walking with a packed lunch, exploring firstly the salt marsh area on the west part of the peninsula where there are ponies and 'salt-marsh' sheep, then we visit a lovely village shop which sells drinks and cakes etc. Then we walk through lanes and moorland over to the coast on the west end of the famous Llangennith beach which stretches from Rhossili to a small island which, if the tide is out, we can go and explore. Back through the dunes with many rare plants to see. (roughly 11 miles, always taken at an easy pace, with an option to cut the walk down to 7 miles if you don't feel you are up for the whole thing!) For those who want to, a quick drive to the local beach down the road and a dip in the sea when we return back to our accommodation! Evening stroll of 2 miles to the local pub to have a meal together, head torches to walk back or take the car if you’re too tired!
- Sunday - Breakfast, then after checking out, we meet via car at another location to walk a circular route on the east side of the Gower this time. Walking again along the coast path with cliffs, ancient woodland, a beautiful beach with a castle above, and a high moor to marvel at those views again! We stop for packed lunch and should finish around 4.30pm. (roughly 7-8 miles)
