Guided Hike: Lugnaquilla & Arts Lough
Join us for an unforgettable guided hike to Lugnaquilla, Ireland's highest mountain outside of Kerry, and the stunning Arts Lough! This challenging yet rewarding hike offers breathtaking views, diverse terrain, and an incredible sense of accomplishment.
What to Expect: Starting from the Baravore Carpark, we’ll ascend through beautiful forestry trails, passing the picturesque Fraughan Rock Glen and climbing alongside a spectacular waterfall. From there, we’ll continue up the open mountainside toward the summit of Lugnaquilla (925m), Ireland's highest Leinster peak. On clear days, the views from the summit are truly breathtaking. After enjoying lunch at the summit (weather permitting), we’ll continue to the Cloghernagh summit (800m) before descending to the tranquil Arts Lough and finishing through forest trails.

Not climbed a Mountain before? Don't worry, you don’t need to be an athlete to enjoy mountain climbing in the UK, but a reasonable level of fitness will certainly enhance your experience. Here are some key points to consider:
Basic Fitness: You should be comfortable walking for several hours at a steady pace. Regular walking or jogging can help build your stamina.
Strength and Endurance: Some strength in your legs and core will be beneficial, as mountain paths can be steep and uneven.
Cardiovascular Health: Good cardiovascular health is important. Activities like brisk walking or using a stair climber can improve this.
