About the event

Join us for an unforgettable day of hiking and optional wild swimming in the stunning Lake District! We'll start our adventure at Rydal Car Park with a brief introduction and equipment check before beginning our hike up Loughrigg Fell. As we ascend, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of Grasmere and Rydal Water.


Upon reaching the summit of Loughrigg Fell, standing at 335 meters above sea level, you'll be able to take in the panoramic vistas and capture some memorable photos. We'll then descend towards Rydal Caves, where you can explore the fascinating slate caverns. Our journey will continue to Rydal Water, where you have the option to refresh yourself with a wild swim in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by natural beauty. Finally, we'll enjoy a leisurely walk back to Rydal Car Park, completing our circular route.


This adventure covers a distance of 7.5 km (4.7 miles) with an ascent and descent of 335 meters. It's perfect for nature enthusiasts and those looking to experience the Lake District from a unique perspective. Whether you're an avid hiker or a first-time explorer, this day promises excitement and stunning scenery. Don't forget your swimwear if you plan to take a dip!
